What documents do I need to travel to Canada and the UK ?
Before taking off from Nantes, make sure you have all the documents you need for a smooth journey. Some countries require an Electronic Travel Authorization (ETA) in addition to a passport.

Travelling to Canada: the AVE is compulsory !
To enter Canada, an Electronic Travel Authorisation (ETA) is required. This authorisation is MANDATORY and must be obtained before your departure.
📌 Good to know : validation can take several days, so make sure you apply early.
- Who is affected ? All travellers, including those transiting through a Canadian airport, except those with a valid Canadian visa.
- How much does it cost ? 7 CAD (about €4.50), payment by credit card only.
- How long is the AVE valid for ? Valid for 5 years or until your passport expires.
Travelling in the UK : ETA compulsory from 2 April 2025 !
From 2 April 2025, an Electronic Travel Authorisation (ETA) will be required to enter the UK. This must be done before departure.
📌 Please note : validation can take up to 3 working days, so make sure you apply early.
- Who is affected ? All travellers staying for less than 6 months (tourism, business, family visits) including those transiting through a British airport, with the exception of those with a valid British visa and minors on school trips.
- How much does it cost? £10 (approx. €12), payment by credit card only.
- How long is the ETA valid for ? Valid for 2 years or until the passport expires, it authorises several short-term stays, each lasting a maximum of 6 months.
