Best period to travel to Algiers
Hop on your flight to Algiers, just 2 hours from Nantes, and soak up the year-round sunshine as you make your way through the charming streets of the city. The average temperature between June and November is between 20 to 25℃, making it the perfect time to go to the beach! With a mild climate from January, spring is filled with gorgeous weather. Summers are hotter and dry, but comfortable thanks to the refreshing Mediterranean breeze. The weather in winter is fairly warm as well. With a mild and slightly humid climate, autumn (like in spring) is the perfect time for a little getaway to the capital of Algeria.
What Algiers has to offer?
An African and Mediterranean City
Both an African and Mediterranean city, Algiers is now once again a major tourist destination. A new period has begun between Algeria and the French Travel industry.
A New Chapter
The capital of a young country, eager to make up for lost time in terms of tourism, Algeria and its capital is home to treasures that are still little-known (but which will not remain so for long). Bab El Oued, Bab Azoun, and Bab El Jazira are no longer shut at night to protect the city centre. Explore the maze of alleyways and houses in Kasbah, the citadel overlooking the city, and discover the city’s spirit.
A Unique History in Every Neighbourhood
Each neighbourhood has its own story; each street has its own secrets. Martyrs’ Square, Abdelkader Square, the Djamaa El Djedid and Djamaâ el Kebir mosques stand next to the neo-Moorish Grand Post Office, itself next to the elegant Che Guevara Boulevard (formerly known as the République), where the office buildings are reminiscent of European architecture.
The Port
Algiers port is a must-see! We’ll leave it up to you to explore.
